The goal of the WISE Forum is to promote cooperation between women scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs from USA and Korea by discussing and sharing their achievements and current interests. This forum will also provide an enhancement of the network of both American and Korean women scientists and engineers. This year, the WISE forum will also be organized by KWiSE like previous women’s forums at UKC2005 and 2006. We believe that this forum will greatly enhance the contribution of female scientists and engineers in KESA activities.
The title of the WISE forum is “Facing Challenges in science and engineering”. First of all, short presentation from each invited speaker will be presented. Then, panel discussion will follow. This will be held on Aug 9, afternoon (Thursday, 3-6pm). After the forum, the free discussion will be continued during the WISE dinner.
Women scientists and engineers at the cutting edge of science and engineering will be invited. Their experience and challenges as women scientists and engineers will be discussed. We will also discuss how they overcome those challenges. We are planning to invite 12 speakers including 3 non-ethnic Koreans in various fields including AFSR, USDA, Sanofi-Aventis, SIO, etc.
