FAQs - Paper Submission

Please use Internet Explorer for paper submission.

FAQ 1: How and what should I submit for a draft abstract?
1. - Go to the following web site; http://ukc.ksea.org/ukc2010/paper_submission.asp?mode=a_submit
2. - Download the one-page paper (also known as, one-page extended abstract) template, and prepare one-page paper using the template or Download template here (.doc)
3. - With the one-page draft paper ready, you can start the on-line abstract submission process by filling in the requested information on the web page, and upload one-page draft abstract in PDF form.

Please note that the system does NOT allow you to submit an outline 70-100 words abstract only without uploading one-page paper (extended abstract).

FAQ 2: What is a difference between an abstract (70-100 words) and 1-page abstract?
An abstract (70-100 words) is a short summary (outline) portion, namely a real abstract of your 1-page paper (typically, known as 1-page extended abstract). The reason for the two versions is that we will include the short abstract (70-100 words) in the program brochure, while we include the 1-page paper (extended abstract) in the proceeding.

FAQ 3: Do we have to prepare and submit a final full paper submission when I get accepted?
No need of a full paper submission: when accepted, you only have to submit a final version of one-page paper by revising your 1-page draft paper.

FAQ 4: Why do we have to prepare a poster for regular papers when I get accepted?
1. - You have to prepare ppt (power point) presentation slides for the combined Oral and Poster Session. Please note that the regular paper presentation format is different from the usual conference format.
2. - All speakers need to prepare the ppt slides for presentation at the conference. The regular paper speakers are required to give both an oral presentation and a follow-on poster presentation; a short oral presentation is only for the key concept, not details of the paper while a one-hour poster session is for more detailed technical discussions with the authors. It is not necessary to make a special poster; you can simply use your ppt printouts on the poster board.

FAQ 5: Where can I find the Session Chairs contact information for any further inquires?

FAQs - Final Abstract Submission

Please use Internet Explorer for final abstract submission.

FAQ 1: My abstract is accepted. How can I submit my final abstract?
Find your abstract available under the link Accepted Abstracts on this page. Click "OK" button next to your abstract. The ID, password, and the web link for necessary for the submission will be e-mailed to the contact person. The web page for the final abstract submission shows all the info which you entered during the submission of your draft abstract. So, you just have to update fields (including the abstract) which are different from the draft version.

FAQ 2: My final version is the same as my draft version. Should I still submit my final version?
Yes. You have to follow the same procedure described above. However, there is no field to update for you, you just have to click "Update" button present at end of the page.

FAQ 3: Am I allowed to update my final version multiple times?
Yes. You can update the final version multiple times until the due date.

FAQ 4: Am I allowed to submit my final version to a different symposium?
No. However, some of you may be requested to do so by a symposium chair. In such a case, you have to submit your final version to the new symposium specified by the symposium chair.
