UKC 2010 Speaker Financial Support Plan Guidelines

* Application for financial supports has been closed at 7/13/2010.
* We no longer accept the financal support application form.

1. UKC 2010 will provide speakers with appropriate financial support for travel expense. Based on speaker's role, there are three types of financial support: Travel Expense Support for general speakers, additional Honorarium only for the world-class invited speakers, and Student Travel Grant for the selected Ph.D. Candidates and Postdoctoral Scholars.

2. In addition, UKC 2010 will provide all registered participants with support for meal cost (estimated cost subsidy $50 per person and per day). Please note that hotel lodging cost is not reimbursed by this program.

3. The level of travel support in this guideline may be changed subject to total funding situation for UKC 2010.

*Note:
  • All financial support applications must be submitted by June. 30, 2010
  • Ph.D. Candidates and Postdoctoral Scholars financial support applications must be submitted by July 12, 2010

  • Type 1: Travel Expense Support for Speakers (Closed)
Submit application by June 30, 2010

All eligible UKC 2010 speakers will receive travel expense support. This travel expense support is arranged for the cost of reasonable airfare (e.g., Coach class tickets procured at least 30 days in advance), up to $500. The amount varies depending on the one-way mileage).

    1.  US Speakers - UKC 2010 will apply the same policy among all US speakers (both invited and regular) who registered for the UKC 2010 symposium. The speakers who are also KSEA Council members should not apply this UKC 2010 Travel Support Fund but follow a KSEA Travel Guideline.

    2.  Korean Speakers - The financial support for Korean speakers will be available only for speakers who will not get a travel expense reimbursement from their employer, institution or other funding sources (e.g., MEST, NRF, BK21). UKC 2010 will apply the same policy among all Korean speakers who registered for the UKC 2010 symposium.

The amount of such a travel support varies depending on the air travel distance. The support covers up to $500 (mainly for air fare) based on the one-way mileage to the conference venue (Seattle, WA). You must submit the original ticket receipts for this travel support application.
