KSEA History Forum
The KSEA History Forum in UKC 2014 on History of KSEA Brain Influx to Korea & Contribution to the build-up of the Industrialized Korea

Date/Venue
- Aug. 9th, Saturday, 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM / SandPebble DE

The KSEA 39th Council Meeting held in Seattle, WA in August of 2010 passed the resolution to create the KSEA History Committee to preserve and publish the 50-year KSEA history. In order to do ground work for the Committee, the KSEA History Task Force (HTF) was also created.

Five members of the HTF were charged to draft the proposal of forming the KSEA History Committee. The proposal included that a KSEA History session was to be held at future UKCs. This was approved at the mid-term Council Meeting in 2011 and thus the KSEA History Committee (KHC) was formally created.

The first KSEA History Forum was held at the UKC-2011 in Park City, Utah and focused on the first 10-year history of KSEA by inviting speakers from both Korea and USA. During the UKC-2012, a small-scale mini-forum was held as a part of the former Presidents Forum that reviewed the KSEA's community services in the USA (Math Contests and UKC-history) for the past 40 years. The KSEA History Forum in UKC-2013 focused on the KSEA Chapter histories.

The History Forum in UKC-2014 continues this tradition and focuses on the history of KSEA brain influx to Korea & the resulting contributions in academia, research institutes and industries to the industrialized Korea.
