UKC 2014 offers five daily group tours to UKC participants and families. The links, which will be prepared in April, 2014, will take you to the tour plans where you will make a reservation. The fee for each tour, which will also be announced in April, 2014, is estimated to range from $80 to $129 depending on each type of the tours.

Group Tour #1: San Francisco City Tour

Enjoy a full day (8 hours) guided tour in America's favorite city with all its amazing cultural and historical attractions. Itinerary includes famous scenic spots like Union Square, City Hall, Fisherman's Wharf (Bay Cruise optional with additional about $30), Lombard Street, Palace of Fine Arts, Golden Gate Bridge (enjoy the cool blast of salty air as you walk across the bridge), Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks and Alamo Square. The tour will pass by other places such as Chinatown, Financial District, Castro Street, St. Mary's Cathedral and more.

Group Tour #2: Napa Valley Winery Tour

Enjoy a full day (9 hours) guided tour to the world's renowned Wine Vineyards for wine making, located in Napa Valley region. Established in the late 1700s, this beautiful area, located less than an hour's drive from San Francisco, is renowned for its rolling hillsides, sunny weather and it's propensity to grow the best grapes in the world, especially chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon. Whether you"re a wine aficionado, or just a fan of the finer things in life, you will love visiting the Wine Country for its wineries. There are over 1,100 wineries in this region with their stunning green vineyards, beautiful haciendas, Mediterranean style buildings accented with classic furniture, and welcoming cellar doors and tasting rooms. Wine tasting is available on a separated fee (wine tasting fees are optional-Starting $25).

Group Tour #3: Monterey and Carmel City Tour

Enjoy a full day (9 hours) guided tour to Monterey and Carmel City. Visit the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium to discover the secret lives of over 500 species of animals, plants, and their habitats, and enjoy seeing their special scheduled exhibitions (optional). Then take a stroll on the historic Old Fisherman's Wharf, and see Cannery Row which is famous for its defunct sardine canning factories and named in honor of John Steinbeck's novel, Cannery Row. Also enjoy the scenic route of the 17 Mile Drive through Pebble Beach; much of which embraces the coastline and passes through the legendary Lone Cypress to the famed eighteenth green of Pebble Beach Golf Links and mansions. Visit Carmel, a town in Monterey County that is known for its natural scenery and rich artistic history. Return to the hotel at night.

Group Tour #4: Yosemite National Park Tour

Enjoy a full day (11 hours) guided tour to Yosemite National Park of the internationally recognized World Heritage Site that offers a panoramic view of its miraculous granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, and biological diversity. Hardly lacking for photo opportunities, get ready to view the 620-foot Bridal veil Fall that may show shimmering rainbows in the late afternoon; favorites amongst rock climbing enthusiast, the granite monolith, El Capitan, and Half Dome; Merced River, a federally designated Wild and Scenic River; and Yosemite Falls, where the upper, middle, and lower falls cumulatively form the highest waterfall in North America (2,425 feet). Return to the hotel at night.

Group Tour #5: Stanford University, UC Berkeley & Lawrence Hall of Science Tour

Stanford University (Stanford), is a private research university located in Stanford, California in the northwestern Silicon Valley near Palo Alto. It is one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Founded in 1891, Stanford nurtured many prominent alumni. For example, since 1952, 60 Nobel laureates have been affiliated with the university. It has produced the largest number of Turing Award laureates for a single academic institution, is the alma mater of 30 living billionaires and 17 astronauts, and is one of the leading producers of members of the United States Congress. Faculty and alumni have founded many prominent companies including Google, Hewlett-Packard, Nike, Sun Microsystems, and Yahoo! Companies founded by Stanford alumni generate more than $2.7 trillion in annual revenue, equivalent to the 10th-largest economy in the world. In a 2010 poll done by The Princeton Review, Stanford was named "dream college", both for students and for parents; a title it had held in many previous years. In the 2012 U.S. News Best Graduate Schools ranking, Stanford was placed in the top 5 for every discipline in which it was ranked. The University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) is a public research university located in Berkeley, California. The university is the flagship institution of the 10 campus- University of California system and one of only two UC campuses operating on a semester calendar, the other being UC Merced. Established in 1868, UC Berkeley is the oldest institution in the UC system and offers approximately 350 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a wide range of disciplines. UC Berkeley manages 3 of the 17 US Department of Energy National Laboratories (Los Alamos National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory). UC Berkeley physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer was the scientific director of the Manhattan Project that developed the first atomic bomb in the world, and its faculty member Edward Teller (together with Stanislaw Ulam) is known as "father of the hydrogen bomb." The Lawrence Hall of Science was established in 1968 in honor of Ernest Orlando Lawrence, the University of California's first Nobel laureate. The Hall is located in the hills above the University of California, Berkeley campus. The exhibits include: "Science on a Sphere" for interactive globe displaying real scientific data from earth; "Forces That Shape the Bay" for exploring seismological forces; "Sunstones" which is a 18 foot granite astronomical sculpture; "Nano Field" examining the field of nanotechnology; "Kids Lab," a multi-sensory play area; "Insect Zoo"; "Pheena the Fin Whale," a life sized model of a juvenile Fin Whale; A Pair of Dee," which are electrodes from one of the first cyclotrons; "Ingenuity Lab," an engineering lab which offers a different challenge each month that allows kids to think critically and explore real world engineering problems; and others.
