Dear UKC 2019 participants,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 32nd US-Korea Conference on Science, Technology and Entrepreneurship (UKC 2019), jointly organized by the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) and the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST). The conference will be held on August 14 – 17, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, Rosemont near Chicago O’Hare airport. Building on the strength of having numerous national laboratories, government agencies, universities and industry near the venue, the UKC 2019 conference provides valuable opportunities for cooperation between the US and Korea.
The theme of UKC 2019 is “Smart Science, Engineering and Health for Livable Communities.” We would like to address technological challenges in the era of the 4th industrial evolution in building livable communities. Specifically, we will discuss these issues in three tracks: smart science, smart engineering and smart health. UKC 2019 will provide opportunities for participants to discuss many hot issues in these areas through various symposium sessions and forums.
In UKC 2019, we will invite more young members by expanding the Young Generation and Professional Forum (YG/PF) program and the Youth Science and Technology Leadership Camp (YSTLC). We plan to provide a meeting space for young entrepreneurs to share their ideas and build international networks. Specifically, the new initiative, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Symposium, will provide a cooperative environment for current and future aspiring entrepreneurs in the US and Korea to network with high-profile entrepreneurs and investors and explore growing cross-border business opportunities in the US and Korea.
We will also continue the University Leadership Forum to assist higher education’s globalization.
We would like to express our thanks to the sponsors, all committee members, and volunteers to make this conference possible. We are confident that UKC 2019 will give a productive and memorable experience to each of participants. We welcome your participation and look forward to seeing you at UKC 2019!
