Forum Synopsis

The Korea Planning & Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (hereafter referred to as ‘KEIT’) is a leading organization contributing to the growth of the manufacturing industry in Korea through the development, application, and commercialization of manufacturing technologies, as well as support for SMEs. Its roles include planning, assessing, and managing national industrial R&D programs under the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (hereafter referred to as ‘MOTIE’).

Since 2014, KEIT, along with MOTIE, has organized the KEIT Research Strategy Forum (KEIT Forum). By promoting the participation of Korean-American scientists and engineers in the planning of Korea’s national R&D projects, we aim to improve productivity and global cooperation in these programs. To better identify and promote creative and innovative ideas for national R&D project planning, major industry and technology trends will be discussed with Korean-American scientists and engineers from various fields, as well as with Korean government organizations, including KEIT.

This year’s KEIT Forum topics include the presentation of MOTIE’s R&D roadmap and KEIT’s policies and programs for promoting emerging industries, focusing on four industrial technology areas: System Semiconductors, Displays, Advanced Industrial Machinery, and Ceramics (Materials).
